The grapes were harvested the last week of September 2015, and then placed in oak in March 2016 until February 2018. It is a powerful and extremely elegant wine that gains complexity and deepness with time.

Lovely ripeness of perfumed plum and wild raspberry. Rounded palate with smooth yet full tannins, slick oak matching and a very long and delicious length of flavour. Beautiful!”.

We always look back to our ancestors’ knowledge, it is the key to understanding our land, where everything starts. But at the same time, we are also open to new knowledge, to learn.

Our founder, Xavi Buil, had an amazing experience in 2002. In a wine fair, he was tasting Garnacha from different parts of the world. By mistake, somebody put some forbidden grape in his Garnacha glass!

What a great blend! He thought it was fantastic and started to investigate about how he could work this forbidden grape in our region. Preliminary conclusions were that it must give us  great fruits, so why not to try, to experiment, to learn… and…  we did it, in January 2003 we planted 1.500 of those vines in Llicorella soil. We grew and loved them like parents rise and love adopted children, foreign origins combined with warm, sincere and local culture that make possible a perfect synergy. What a richness!

In 2006 we started to experiment and learn.  8 years later, after 2014 harvest and elaboration, our forbidden vines became ‘local’ and our knowledge richer. They, us, we all made an integration effort.

Then we decided to make our first Forbidden – Garnacha to be shared with all of you in 2015.

Here you have the fruits of all those efforts full of passion, love and science.
