Spring is the busiest season in the vineyards, and also the most important.
Preventive treatments are carried out to avoid possible vine illnesses. The greatest danger to vineyards in the Priorat region are grape worm and gray mold.
Spring is also the time for green pruning. This is intended to eliminate the shoots not necessary for the growth of the grapevine. Through this procedure most of the leaves covering the grapes are removed. This helps to ventilate the grapes during times of high humidity and rainfall, and it also exposes the grapes to more sunshine. These elements are necessary during the ripening months. This is yet another process that help us to reach the best quality possible in our wines.
